Reader’s workshop: We are working on workshop component of read to self (stamina to read books to ourselves for a long time without getting tired). We are continuing to work on our reading strategies and becoming work solvers. We are able to use picture power well in solving words we do not know. While that is an important strategy is not the only one we should use. We can also use sound power by getting our mouth ready with the initial letter of a word to help us. We are beginning to look through the whole word when using our sound power.
Please keep listening to your child read nightly. It helps immensely to review previously taught lessons one more time. It can make all the difference with a struggling learner. Plus they loves the rewards!
